GenAI is actively disrupting education and instruction, but this disruption provides us the opportunity to reflect on what we want our learning and teaching experiences to be and the transformations that need to happen to get us there.

These new professional learning sessions help educators harness GenAI to support rather than replace rich instruction and meaningful learning, anchoring guidance in evidence-based math instructional strategies that leverage collaborative learning, student sense-making, productive struggle, belonging, and connection.

Led by Lewis Hosie, Director of Development and Implementation for Carnegie Math Pathways, these sessions, which can be taken individually or all together, are designed to engage participants in discussing evidence-based instructional practices and learning models alongside an exploration of GenAI tools, use cases, and policy considerations.

Research shows that nurturing self-confidence, enhancing students’ sense of belonging, and helping them learn to recognize and manage emotions effectively can significantly benefit students and lead to greater course persistence and success. 

Join this new eight-week professional learning workshop series to build your awareness of and capacity using the Cultivating Inclusive and Resilient Communities of Learning (CIRCL) Framework to attend to the full needs of your students and enhance and support their learning experience. 

Learning alongside peers and guided by WestEd’s Lead Researcher for CIRCL, Haley McNamara, you’ll explore each of the framework’s six drivers and gain experience implementing and adapting the research-based routines and practices in your classroom and institutions. The series consists of five, one-hour online synchronous workshops, with approximately one hour of pre-work before each online session.

Led by Carnegie Math Pathways Faculty Mentors, this 2- day convening will provide training for all new faculty at already implementing institutions or schools new to the network preparing to teach Qantway or Statway in the coming year.

New faculty will learn about and gain familiarity with:

• the Pathways curriculum and instructional approach,
• new Pathways course offerings,
• integrated Productive Persistence student support interventions and routines, and
• managing the Pathways online course platform.

Join us for the Carnegie Math Pathways training institute in Long Beach, California. Led by Pathway Faculty Mentors, this event will offer training to instructors preparing to teach Statway and Quantway for the first time.

Learn about and gain familiarity with:

• the Pathways curriculum and instructional approach,
• new Pathways course offerings, including corequisites,
• integrated Productive Persistence student support interventions and routines, and
• managing the Pathways online course platform.

In partnership with Madison Area Technical College, Carnegie Math Pathways is hosting an institute designed to facilitate learning and sharing among new and returning Pathways faculty members, advisors, or administrators. Take part in workshops, round tables, plenaries and training focused on sharing resources and strategies to enhance instructional and institutional practices that can transform your students’ learning and outcomes.

This institute will include:

• New Faculty Training for Statway and Quantway
• Enrichment Learning for Pathways Faculty, Administrators, and Advisors
• A Productive Persistence Workshop Open to Non-Math Faculty at Pathways institutions

Carnegie Math Pathways will also be offering a 3-hour Explorer Orientation on Friday, June 21 from 8 a.m. – Noon. Faculty and administrators who are interested in joining the Pathways will have the opportunity to take a deep dive into the design and approach of our offerings as well as connect with the Carnegie Math Pathways staff.
