Carnegie Math Pathways is committed to helping educators create engaging and rigorous learning experiences that support every student for success.

Most importantly for equity and for student success generally is the quality of teaching, and Carnegie Math Pathways is really among the few efforts nationally to address this.

Systems and structures for student success – Institutional Coaching & Support
We know colleges and universities today are focused even more intently on student outcomes, retention, and graduation. We support higher education institutions to build and implement strategic plans targeted at increasing access and achievement in mathematics so that students can advance and reach their goals.
Through individual coaching and customized institutional support, we work closely and collaboratively with partners to help you in developing, implementing, and evaluating systems and structures focused on introducing or strengthening math pathways, corequisites, and other developmental math reforms.
Our partnerships are guided by the core values of:
- Centering educators – We value the experience and insights of educators and believe they should have a voice in the change processes impacting their classrooms. We aim to build educator partnerships based on respect and transparency and that leverage educator expertise.
- Learning in community – We believe that we can do more together than alone. Bringing together educators and institutions fosters collaboration and opportunities to learn from each other and share knowledge, expanding the reach of impactful practices.
- Focusing on equity and achievement – We are committed to ensuring that all students have the support they need to succeed in mathematics and in helping educators equitably meet the needs of their students.
- Taking an improvement approach – Change is a process. We support educators and leaders to identify, test, adapt, improve, and share practices that meet the needs of their students, based on analyses of classroom behavioral and performance data.
