The Adult Numeracy in the Digital Era Project: A Technology-Enabled Mathematics Course For Adult Learners
This session engages participants in a new technology-enabled mathematics course developed in the IES-funded Adult Numeracy in the Digital Era (ANDE) project. The course utilizes relevant, contextualized mathematics content; collaborative learning; adaptive mathematical supports; digital literacy supports; and social-emotional interventions promoting self-efficacy and belonging. Participants will engage in hands-on math tasks and interventions targeting growth mindset and belonging implemented in the course, and reflect on implications of the curricular and instructional design for local instruction.

Technological Innovations in Instruction and Assessment: Advances in CREATE Network Research
The CREATE Adult Skills Network, a federally-funded research initiative, helps address the needs of adult learners by building and investigating technology-enabled instruction and assessment. During this session, Network research teams provide updates on their projects and share findings from development and testing. These updates include demos of edtech that support personalized assessments, leverage AI, boost access to open/free digital content, promote digital, and creatively use technology to support math, writing, reading, and civics education

Empowering Adult Numeracy and Digital Literacy Educators to Create Inclusive, Learning Mindset-Supportive Environments
The Adult Numeracy in the Digital Era (ANDE) project has developed a technology-enabled mathematics course for adult learners along with supporting professional development. This session focuses on the ANDE PD program, which centers around using (1) intentionally-designed collaborative mathematics to facilitate authentic discourse and (2) embedded, research-based activities and routines to promote students’ learning mindsets. In this interactive session, participants will engage with, discuss, and reflect upon strategies to create inclusive, learning mindset-supportive environments.
