Keynote: Dr. Kory Czuy, ᒥᐦᑯᐱᐦᐁᓯᐤ
Dr. Czuy is Métis/Polish, born in Treaty 8 by the banks of the Peace River, with Ancestral ties to the Jobin Family of Big Prairie. She has been working in education for over 20 years and Indigenous Science/Mathematics pedagogy and methodologies for over a decade. Her PhD was in storying mathematics, embracing the depth of mathematics within the knowledge of the Land and Community.
She is currently the Manager of Indigenous Science at the Spark Science Centre in Calgary Alberta (Mohkinstsis), focusing on weaving together multiple ways of knowing, being, and doing science. Kori is also the Host and Producer of the Podcast “Ancestral Science,” teaches “Indigenous Science” at the University of Calgary, and is an Indigenous Science Pedagogy Consultant.
Kori is on an ongoing journey to reconnect with and learn from the knowings of the Land, Cosmos, and Spirit and their “origins” within science.

Minnesota Twins vs. Cleveland Guardians

This optional outing begins at 7:10pm on Friday, Sept. 19th and is great way to connect informally with peers and enjoy a classic Minneapolis experience. (Participant tickets will be purchased by Carnegie Math Pathways.)
Group Dinner at Owamni
Join us Saturday, Sept. 20th at 6pm for an optional group dinner at Owamni, a celebrated Indigenous restaurant on the banks of the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis. Created by The Sioux Chef, Owamni’s menu features pre-colonial ingredients and traditional Native American cooking techniques. The restaurant offers a unique cultural and culinary experience that centers Indigenous identity and innovation.
