Diablo Valley College (DVC) in California and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) have both seen success rates in gateway mathematics dramatically increase after implementing and scaling math corequisites, including Quantway and Statway Corequisites. Not only have their corequisite programs helped more students directly enroll in college-level math courses, they are closing equity gaps in outcomes as well.

Case studies of DVC and UWM corequisite implementation are among the Practice Profiles featured in the Corequisite Mathematics Toolkit. Sponsored by Strong Start to Finish, this toolkit was developed by Dana Center in partnership with Carnegie Math Pathways.

It is designed to guide institutions through the process of adopting and scaling corequisites that enable all students to access gateway mathematics in their first year and ensure that students receive the supports they need to be successful. With clear design principles, planning and implementation tools, and studies from the field, this toolkit offers college educators a comprehensive resource to design corequisites for scale and build equity into each phase of the work.
